The article presents the results of examination of patients with diabetic vitreopapillary traction syndrome combined with proliferative diabetic retinopathy. The research revealed changes of regionary hemodynamics, what is manifested in the decrease of blood flow speed indicators in the retina central artery, posterior short ciliary arteries and increase in peripheral vascular resistance. We suppose that ischemic process can be one of the factors of the development of vitreopapillary traction syndrome. Growing traction on the optic nerve, caused by changes in ciliopapillary canal of vitreous, can stimulate fibrovascular proliferation.
Key words: vitreopappilary traction syndrome, diabetic retinopathy, vitreoretinal surgery.
