The purpose — to study the markers of visceral obesity (VO) in patients with obesity in combination with coronary artery disease and to evaluate their relationship with eating disorders (ED).

Material and methods. The study included 88 patients with coronary artery disease with or without obesity (overweight or normal body weight). We analyzed anthropometric data (height, weight, waist circumference, hip circumference) and lipid spectrum indicators. VO markers were calculated. Eating disorders in the study groups were studied.

Results. In patients with coronary artery disease and obesity, the restrictive type of ED prevailed. In this group, higher values of VO markers were also observed. The relationship between the VO index and the ED types was revealed.

Conclusions. Diagnosis of VO can be recommended for primary and secondary prevention of cardiovascular diseases and death.

Key words: visceral obesity, markers of visceral obesity, coronary heart disease, eating disorders.
