The problem of hip arthroplasty in hip joint ankylosis in relation to surgical and rehabilitation aspects is considered. From the surgical point of view, the question arises of finding the location of the joint and the features of implantation of the device against the background of osteoporosis associated with low load and long-term limitation of function. A clinical example of ankylosed hip as result of coxarthrosis and Bechterew’s disease is given; preoperative planning is described, as well as the technical aspects of the surgical procedure using a Russia-produced hip joint endoprosthesis, and the outcome of surgical treatment. A conclusion was made that the articular function can be partially restored.
