The purpose — to evaluate the effect of inhalation of heated oxygen-helium mixture on the acid-base balance of the body and ovarian microcirculation after hysterectomy in reproductive age.

Material and methods. The prospective study included 80 patients who underwent radical surgical treatment in reproductive age. Patients of group 1 (40 patients) received inhalations of heated oxygen-helium mixture using a certified Ingalit device once a day for 10 minutes for 5 days. Patients of group II (40 patients) received classical postoperative therapy, which included antibiotic prophylaxis, symptomatic and anticoagulant therapy.

Results. In patients of group I, the assessment of blood acid-base status (ABS) during treatment showed a statistically significant decrease in CO2 concentration from 38.73 to 35.11 mmHg and an increase in O2 from 64.22 to 71.16 mmHg. The average PBCV (peak blood circulation velocity) before inhalation was 6.80 cm/s, after — 8.90 cm/s, the average EDV (end diastolic velocity) before inhalation was 3.20 cm/s, after — 4.60 cm/s, the average RI (resistance index) before inhalation was 0.59, after — 0.92, the average PI (pulsatility index) before inhalation was 0.75, after — 0.94. No adverse events associated with the drug use was recorded.

Conclusion. Improvement of ovarian hemodynamics and blood oxygenation contributed to the elimination of ischemia due to the normalization of microcirculation and tissue oxygenation, which ensured successful rehabilitation of patients after radical surgery.

Key words: uterectomy, hysterectomy, oxygen-helium mixture inhalation, rehabilitation.
