The article gives the results of the ultrasound investigation of 152 patients with suspected malignant and metastatic processes in regional lymph nodes. Ultrasound signs of malignant and metastatic changes in the lymph nodes are described, as well as ultrasound picture observed in case of lymphadenitis and in the study of unmodified lymph nodes. There was made appraisal of capabilities of ultrasound diagnostic method in identifying malignant processes in regional lymph nodes, defined its role and place in the diagnostic algorithm.
