The article presents the results of examining702 patients with thyroid gland pathology. In 358 of them the autoimmune thyroiditis was diagnosed by traditional diagnostic techniques. The basic ultrasonic changes were identified, which are revealed by diagnosing the chronic autoimmune thyroiditis. They are: the growth of volume of thyroid gland, its inhomogeneous structure, hypo- and hyper-echoic areas, and the increased blood flow.
