Transosseal osteosynyesis of the pronation-eversion fractures of distal lower leg bones

Pronation-eversion fractures of the distal tibial articular department are among the most common types of injuries. This injury mechanism is usually accompanied with the trans-, suprasyndesmosis fracture of the lower leg bone, fracture of the internal malleolus or deltoid ligament rupture, partial or total damage to the distal tibiofibular syndesmosis. Complications are usually associated with errors in diagnosis and treatment of these fractures. The distal tibiofibular syndesmosis injury is often not detected and the features of os fibula (lateral malleolus) fractures is neglected. The problem of treatment of fractures of distal articular end of osses cruris is shown in this article. The aspects of osteosynthesis with the use of external fixation apparatus in patients with these fractures are shown in the article. The analysis of treatment of 184 patients with pronation fractures of distal end of osses cruris is performed.
