    The article presents the main aspects of feeding the Tatar children at various periods of historic development of the Tatar people. The stages are described of the development of traditions and religious rituals of feeding in a family. The great role of prolonged breast feeding of babies in Tatar families is shown. Traditional food rations during the nomadic and settled way of living are described.
