 The article is dedicated to the life path of Professor M.N. Cheboksarov, who headed Kazan University in 1922–1923. Due to him, the university education was preserved in Kazan during the Civil War and epidemic of typhus, when most of university professors left the city. M.N. Cheboksarov received an excellent education: he was an intern in the best clinics in Germany and Austria, and his residency mentor was the famous Professor Kazem-Bek. In 1919, he headed the Medical Faculty of Kazan University and the Society of Physicians, in 1920 — the Department of Therapeutic Clinic. He returned to scientific studies when V.V. Chirkovsky became the Rector. Being a talented scientist and attentive doctor, he left behind a lot of researches and a good memory among colleagues and patients.
