    The number of registered new cases of HIV infection decreases annually; however, the analysis of the immunodeficiency state of newly diagnosed patients allows analyzing the timeliness of diagnosis and the treatment effectiveness in dynamics.

    The purpose — to analyze the timeliness of detection of HIV infection and the effectiveness of its treatment in newly registered patients during the first year of dispensary observation.

    Material and methods. The study is retrospective, continuous, and descriptive. We used statistics from the Federal Register of Persons Infected with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus for the period from 2019 to 2024, registered in Omsk region.

    Results. Over six years, the number of newly diagnosed HIV patients was decreasing. When assessing the immunological status, two trends were revealed: a decrease in patients with a high level of CD4 lymphocytes (more than 500 cells/μl) and an increase in patients with severe immunodeficiency (CD4 lymphocytes less than 199 cells/μl). Viral load parameters tended to increase. Median immunological and virological values for patients of each year of registration were estimated.

    Taking into account the availability of antiretroviral therapy, the coverage of HIV patients was more than 90%. The effectiveness of treatment in the first year of dispensary observation was assessed. Immunological and virological parameters of HIV-infected patients at the time of registration and while taking antiretroviral therapy were compared.

    Conclusion. Thus, in the cohort of newly diagnosed HIV-infected patients, the number of patients with immunodeficiency increased. Regular use of antiretroviral therapy allowed achieving significant treatment effectiveness in the first year of observation.
