The article presents the results of radioisotope diagnostics of motility disorders of the gastrointestinal tract in patients with chronic constipation. Scintigraphic study has been performed using the medical radioisotope Tc99m in a dose of 250 MBq and single-photon emission computed tomography scanner, Philips BrightView. The method objectively reflects intestinal motility disorder in chronic constipation syndrome, allows to establish specifics of a structure and pathological location of a large intestine and also to suspect generalized disturbance of digestive tract motility. Radioisotope method significantly enhances the diagnostics of anatomic functional disorders in chronic constipation, it can be regarded as an important component of the diagnostic algorithm, influencing the choice of treatment option.
Key words: diagnosis of chronic constipation, radioisotope method, radiopharmaceuticals.
