Antibiotic sensitivity was determined of 1287 strains of Salmonella and Shigella species isolated from intestines of children hospitalized in Children’s Infectious Diseases Hospital in Kazan with a diagnosis of «acute intestinal infection» in the period from 2007 to the first half of 2014. The results of the study showed that salmonellosis dominates in the structure of bacterial diarrhea in children. The prescription of aminopenicillins, III generation cephalosporins, aminoglycosides generation III should be recommended as an empirical treatment of severe and generalized forms. Antibiotic therapy in the early treatment of dysentery should not include aminopenicillins, co-trimoxazole, and chloramphenicol.
