The study is dedicated to the combination of methods of systematic and local usage of the fluoride for the caries prevention in children of the Republic of Tatarstan. The results of the project implemented in the region regarding the milk fluoridation in the city of Zelenodolsk and also the use of dental filling (sealant) for fissure sealing of permanent tricuspids in children were presented. Total amount of examined children is 604. The study comprised of four groups of children aged 7-8 years and 12 years, including three test groups: Group 1 «Fluoridized milk» group 2 «Fluoridized milk + fissure sealant», Group 3 «Fissure Sealants» and control group 4 «Comparisons». On average, one child at the age of 12 in permanent occlusion has a «very low» level of DMF/dmf according to the WHO (World Health Organization) classification. Children who consumed only fluoridated milk (1 group) — 0,91±1,39, with a combination of fluoridized milk and dental fissure sealing (group 2) — 0,55±0,99, with dental fissure sealing with sealants (group 3) — 0,77±1,07, as compared to the control group peers (group 4) 2,29±1,59. Data regarding the synergy effect of fluoridized milk and fissure sealing were obtained, as a highly effective method of dental caries prevention, providing conditions for the complete eradication of dental caries for the majority of children.
