The study involved 35 patients with hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome of moderate severity and 15 patients with a severe form. The authors studied immunological parameters: phagocytosis activity, circulating immune complexes, nitro blue tetrazolium reduction test (NBT-test), and concentration of cytokines (IL-1β, TNF-α, IFN-γ, IL-10). The changes of immunological parameters are revealed: inhibition of phagocytosis activity, increase of NBT-test, level of medium and small circulating immune complexes, imbalance of cytokines. These changes depend on the severity of hemorrhagic fever with renal syndrome and are present in the period of clinical recovery.
