The article presents a study of 198 children and adolescents aged 7-18 years with primary obesity. The description of the clinical, functional and metabolic characteristics of these patients depending on age is given. In the age group of 15-18 years, we propose to distinguish two clinical-pathogenetic variants of the disease. The first variant is characterized by the development of stable arterial hypertension on the background of moderate metabolic disorders in venous blood. The second variant is characterized by the steady metabolic changes in blood and the presence of only labile arterial hypertension or normal blood pressure. Taking into account the expressed clinical, functional and metabolic disorders in children with obesity at the age of 15-18 years, the main curative and preventive measures should be taken in younger age groups.
Key words: obesity, children, adolescents, arterial hypertension, hyperinsulinemia.
