There has been developed system of classification and choice of the methods of surgical treatment of long-term damages and false joint of the humeral condyle head in children. There have been developed and introduced the methods of reconstructive operative treatment of false joints of the humeral condyle head with the Ilizarov apparatus allowing stable fixation of the bone fragments without the use of graft, and methods of stable-functional osteosynthesis of the old fractures of the humeral condyle head. Application methodology was developed in 35 patients with long-term damages and false joints of the humeral condyle head in children aged from 3 to 16 years. The long-term results were studied in 28 patients with follow-up from 6 months to 3 years after treatment, good anatomic-functional results (complete volume of motions in the joints, absence of deformation) were noted in 18 patients, satisfactory (complete volume of motions, in some cases complaints of pain in the joint if any change of weather) ― in 10 patients, and unsatisfactory results were not noted. The developed methodology of surgical treatment of long-term damages and false joints of the humeral condyle head in children allows restoration of the anatomic structure of the surface of the humerus and providing of the congruence in the elbow joint, as well as elimination of the valgus deformation of the joint and achievement of the functional restoration of this joint.
Key words: elbow joint, children, long-term damages, false joint, diagnosis, operative treatment.
