The results of surgical interventions in 80 patients with primary and metastatic tumors of the spine are presented. Even temporary improvement in the quality of life of the patient ― removal or reduction of pain, possibility of self-service, regression of neurological symptoms, not to mention the complete cure for benign processes, requires further improvement of surgical methods of treatment. One should take into account the gravity of surgical intervention and the risk for a patient. Surgical treatment should be completed with removal of the injured vertebrae and restoration of the supportive axis of the spine with appropriate constructions.
Key words: spinal tumors, surgical treatment.
