Structure of causes of death among infants with surgical pathology

The analysis of the medical records of deceased infants with surgical pathology for 1992—2011 was made. The main causes of adverse outcomes were septic complications, incurability and the immaturity of patients, late diagnosis of malformation; also iatrogenic causes. In the third place were the complications related to transporting the newborn, inadequate training and treatment policy. Preventable nature had 77% of the causes of mortality. Over the past 10 years neonatal mortality with surgical pathology decreased by 3.5 times.
