The study of reproductive health of boys is becoming increasingly important. Most experts believe that surgical diseases of the reproductive system of boys are playing an important role in the formation of male infertility factor in adults. The operation on the reproductive system organs in children is considered to be successful without an assessment of reproductive prognosis. From this point of view it is necessary to change approaches to the treatment of boys with disorders of peritoneum processus vaginalis. The article presents a theory of change of surgical treatment, basing on the well-known facts and consistent with the foreign published works, while their modernization is based on the analysis and generalization of experience of the leading national and foreign clinics for surgical treatment of inguinal hernia and hydrocele in boys. There is trend towards gradual simplification of the techniques of laparoscopic surgical interventions for non-obliterated peritoneum processus vaginalis in children.
Key words: pathology of peritoneum processus vaginalis, inguinal hernia, hydrocele, children, surgical treatment.
