In the last 3 years injury rates have not changed significantly in the total population of Tatarstan, children and adults. At the same time, the already high rate in adolescents has increased significantly. The trend of the injuries «hardening» has continued in the recent years. In their structure a 3-fold growth was marked of internal injuries of the chest and abdominal area, and combined traumas of pelvis. At the same time the hospitalization of these patients is extremely low compared with other classes of diseases. It is revealed that the type of settlement plays a major role in the rates of disability and mortality from injuries and other external causes: indicators of the rural population are worse than of the urban population.
