The article presents the results of the survey of patients who underwent uterine artery embolization for the treatment of cervical and interstitial ectopic pregnancy from 2011 to 2015. From 2011 to 2015 14 uterine artery embolization procedures were performed: 10 of them to treat cervical pregnancy, 4 ― to treat interstitial pregnancy. We managed to contact 11 patients. At the time of the survey, 1 patient was 12 weeks pregnant, 1 patient gave birth, 1 had no reproductive plans, 3 patients reported having reproductive plans in future but currently they were not trying to conceive. The remaining 5 patients desired pregnancy. Out of these 5 contraception was prescribed by the doctor to 2 patients, 1 patient was diagnosed with secondary infertility (duration 3 years), 2 women were trying to get pregnant for 1 year, but had not consulted a doctor about it. In 3 patients changes of the menstrual cycle were observed in the form of shortening of the menstruation duration from 5 to 3 days and reduction of the lost blood quantity. One woman developed severe pain during menstruation.
Conclusions. After uterine artery embolization such consequences as secondary algodysmenorrhea, changes in menstrual cycle, reproductive disorders may develop. Patients should be further examined in order to identify the causes of infertility and changes in menstruation. Also a differentiated approach is necessary to patients who wish and do not wish to preserve fertility.
Key words: uterine artery embolization, cervical pregnancy, interstitial pregnancy.
