In the present work, an attempt was made to analyze the age-related features of an ECG based on the data obtained during 4 years of research work, and to answer if there are the so-called critical periods during which ECG changes are more common than in other age periods.

Materials and methods. General ECG-examination of 4935 children (2397 boys and 2538 girls) aged 1 to 17 years was conducted. All studies were performed on a 6-channel electrocardiograph CARDIETTE Start 100. Echocardiographic examinations were performed on an ultrasound system HDI 4000 РLUS. All children were divided by age into 15 groups.

Results. No reliable data were obtained on the presence of critical periods in forming the mechanisms of cardiac activity regulation in children. Wide distribution of right bundle branch block of His in children and the early ventricular repolarization phenomenon was revealed. A difference in the prevalence of these features in boys and girls was detected. The analysis revealed some peculiarities in the distribution of ECG-phenomena and syndromes, both by age and by gender.

Conclusion. Despite the wide distribution of the syndromes and phenomena mentioned in this article, it is necessary to treat them as a variant of norm with caution, because this can be justified only if a comprehensive clinical examination is carried out and an ECG is observed in dynamics.

Key words: electrocardiogram, age periods, right bundle branch block of His, early ventricular repolarization phenomenon.
