Obesity is one of the most common diseases in the world and is considered a new non-infectious «epidemy of the XXI century». It is proved that in proportion to the development of obesity grows the frequency of cardiovascular changes. The most common cause of cardiovascular complications is exactly the visceral (internal, abdominal) obesity. At the present time there are several non-invasive, affordable, safe, low-cost methods to assess the nature of fat deposition in vivo.

Key words: arterial hypertension, heart, obesity, risk, method.
