Acute respiratory infections cause the greatest economic damage among all infectious diseases. The developed and applied methods of specific prevention of influenza (vaccination) enabled to considerably reduce the incidence of this disease. However, this is not true for acute infectious diseases of upper respiratory tract which have multiple or unclear localization. Various methods of nonspecific prevention of acute respiratory viral infections are investigated, including external application of Virosept ointment. The research shows the possibility to reduce the acute incidence, increase the «health index» with long-term application of Virosept ointment.
Key words: nonspecific prevention of acute respiratory viral infections, Virosept ointment.
