The review provides information on the role of microelements in the human life and the correlation between nutrition in various periods of life and the microelement composition of a body. Information on the participation of some trace elements in the development of chronic diseases and metabolic disorders is presented. The most common combinations of deficiency or excess of trace elements are described: zinc, chromium, calcium, iodine, manganese, molybdenum, cobalt, potassium, sodium, magnesium, silicon, iron, which leads to pathological conditions.
Keywords: microelements, mineral elements, microelementosis, obesity, nutrition, food, diet, children.
