Objective: to assess the severity of influenza A (H1N1) in pregnant women and predict the development of DIC syndrome by identifying markers of endothelial dysfunction and hemostasis system.
Material and methods. 92 pregnant women in gestation from 26 to 38 weeks were divided into 2 groups. The main group consisted of 72 pregnant women with influenza A (H1N1), the comparison group – of 20 healthy pregnant women in the same period without influenza. The clinic, hemostasis system and endothelium markers (von Willebrand factor (WF) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) were investigated.
Results. In pregnant women with the flu, a hyper-coagulative state of the hemostasis system was detected. In severe cases there were decompensation and hypocoagulative state. The increase in WF by 1.5 times and ET-1 by 4.2 times was revealed in the main group
Conclusion. The detected changes in the hemostatic system of the patients with highly pathogenic influenza characterize the state of hypercoagulation, which is characteristic of normal pregnancy in the third trimester, but these deviations in pregnant women after influenza were more pronounced.
Key words: pregnancy, influenza, hemostasis, endothelin-1, Willebrand factor.
