The article presents the results of a 4-year follow-up of 135 patients (206 eyes) aged from 7 to 16 years with progressive myopia who were treated in the Children’s Department of Samara Regional Clinical Ophthalmologic Hospital named after T.I. Eroshevsky from 2012 to 2016. All patients underwent laser photocoagulation of the retina for peripheral dystrophia vitreoretinalis. The relationship is found between the degree of myopia, its progression gradient, anatomical parameters of the eye and the risk of formation and further progression of peripheral dystrophia vitreoretinalis. The character of the course of peripheral dystrophia vitreoretinalis depending on its type adn localization of dystrophic changes in the fundus is analyzed.
Key words: myopia, progression gradient, peripheral dystrophia vitreoretinalis, laser photocoagulation of the retina.
