Nowadays, implantation of multifocal IOLs is one of the primary ways of correcting aphakia with restoring vision to different distances. The article presents the results of implantation of trifocal lens Acrysof IQ Panoptix in 6 patients (12 eyes) during femtolaser assisted cataract phacoemulsification. The control group consisted of 26 patients (52 eyes) with implanted bifocal IOL Acrysof IQ Restor. It was shown that both lenses provided high uncorrected near and distance visual acuity in photopic light environment. However, the Acrysof IQ Panoptix lens provided significantly better intermediate visual acuity and was more resistant to defocusing. The first results of the use of the new trifocal PanOptix lens showed the possibility of achieving good quality vision at different distances regardless of the level of illumination; and it requires further research.
Key words: trifocal IOLs, multifocal IOLs, femtolaser assisted phacoemulsification.
