The article presents the experience of a group of specialists in the sphere of practical aspects of registration and analysis of electrocardiogram in athletes. It is highlighted that physiological phenomena of ECG in athletes are sinus bradyarrhythmia and high voltage of the electrocardiographic waves. The traditional values of ECG criteria of the left ventricle hypertrophy are relevant only for persons older than 40 y.o. Most athletes have eccentric type of myocardium hypertrophy (parallel increase of the cavities and wall thickness diameter). During ECG registration in athletes, one should use techniques improving the ECG objectivity.
Key words: electrocardiogram, athletes, features of registration, analysis.
