 According to the recent statistics, diseases of the musculoskeletal system and connective tissue become a priority in the structure of morbidity of the Russian population. Within this group of diseases, degenerative and dystrophic diseases (DDD) of the hip, knee and ankle joints take the lead. The analysis conducted by the authors has shown that the incidence of hip DDD in Ryazan region increased several-fold in 30 years of observation. The reasons for that rest in disorganization of primary health care (especially in rural areas), as well as in the expansion of foreign manufacturers of joint prosthetic implants. Given the cost of hip replacement surgery, it is advised to reduce the number of such surgeries through implementation of early diagnostics of DDD of joints and joint-preserving surgical procedures into the practical health care. It can be achieved through establishing anti-arthrosis health centers (dispensaries). The tasks of such health centers, their arrangement and possible equipment are defined in the article. A clinical case of effective medical follow-up of the population is presented.
