In our experiments 28 healthy man and 49 patients with diagnosis of acute appendicitis were participated. Using monosynaptic reflex excitability test was studied the activity of medial gastrocnemius and soleus muscles motorneurons. It was shown that in healthy man reflex excitability of spinal motoneurons symmetrical motor centers did not differ. The reflex excitability of motor neurons of medial gastrocnemius and soleus muscles during acute appendicitis was reduced. Therefore, our experimental results suggest, that visceral nociceptive afferentation can modulate the reflex excitability of spinal motoneurons symmetrical motor centers of the medial gastrocnemius and soleus muscles.
Key words: motor neurons, reflex irritability, visceral nociception, H- and M-responses.
