A clinical case of low-frequency «tertiary» proliferative cataract — the relapse of the secondary cataract — was analyzed. «Tertiary» cataract appeared in the eye with previously performed YAG-laser discission on the occasion of secondary cataract in pseudofakic eye with hydrophilic IOL. YAG laser destruction of the cell conglomerate restored high vision. Factors of proliferation of the epithelial cells of the lens with adhesion to IOL were supposed. The investigation of the «tertiary» cataract, orphan ophthalmopathology is necessary for the development of prophylactic activities.
Key words: secondary cataract, intraocular correction, YAG-laser discission, tertiary cataract.
