The article presents an overview of literature on a group of diseases classified as lung diseases associated with accumulation ― alveolar proteinosis, alveolar microlithiasis, primary amyloidosis of lungs, osteoplastic pneumopathy. In the Russian and foreign literature on lung diseases associated with accumulation, one can find a sufficient amount of scientific articles with descriptions and analysis of clinical cases, but very few articles and reviews are devoted to fundamental research on this topic. The article presents the main points of the modern theories of the etiology and pathogenesis of diseases from this group. The unifying link of this group of diseases is the accumulation of various substances in the alveolus, which leads to various disorders of lung functions. Lung diseases associated with accumulation are relatively rare, but studying of mechanisms of their formation is very perspective area of the modern medical science.
