The data were analyzed, presented in the Russian and foreign literature in the recent ten years and devoted to benign breast diseases (BBD). The possibilities of ultrasound, X-ray mammography and magnetic resonance imaging for the differential diagnosis of various forms of BBD and breast cancer are described. The importance of using the BI-RADS system in describing the results of radiation diagnostic methods of the breast is shown.

Key words: benign breast diseases, radiation diagnostic methods.
