In Russia, more than 60 thousand people are diagnosed with lung cancer every year. Lung cancer is usually accompanied by hematogenous metastasis to organs. Metastatic lesions of the spleen rank last among all other organs, since such metastases are detected against the background of generalized dissemination of the tumor.
The purpose — to describe a case of isolated metastasis to the spleen with the development of pulmonary embolism in squamous cell keratinizing lung cancer.
Results. The patient, who died at home, did not seek medical help. Cancer of the lower lobe bronchus of the left lung (low-grade squamous cell keratinizing cancer) was detected with no metastases to the lymph nodes and isolated metastases in the spleen with the development of tumor embolism.
Conclusion. Based on the described case, it is shown that with squamous cell lung cancer, secondary metastatic lesions to the spleen are possible, without lymphogenous metastases, with the development of hemorrhagic pulmonary infarction due to tumor occlusion of the pulmonary artery branches.
Key words: lung cancer, squamous cell keratinizing, metastases, myocardium.
