The paper presents the investigation results of 18 patients (24 eyes) operated for open-angle glaucoma. The patients underwent non-penetrating deep sclerectomy accompanied by the intrascleral implantation of the hemostatic sponge saturated with dexamethasone solution. The data of the objective investigation methods in the remote postoperative period are given that prove high efficacy of the surgical intervention. Microinvasive glaucoma surgery at the early stage of the disease ensures the best prognosis for the visual functions preservation and significant decrease in the number of operative trauma and complications. The proposed technique increases and prolongs the hypotensive effect, allows obtaining the well-formed filtering bleb and intrascleral cavity, reduces the risk of trabeculodescemet membrane thickening.
Key words: glaucoma, filtering bleb, non-penetrating deep sclerectomy.
