The article aims to study the relationship between the probability of visual acuity improvement to a certain level after cataract phacoemulsification and the baseline functional and anatomical parameters in high myopia. The study included 93 patients (103 eyes) with cataract and high myopia. The basic methods were ultrasound biomicroscopy of the retinal periphery, ultrasonic B-scan of the vitreous body and spectral optical coherence tomography of the macular zone preoperatively, in the first postoperative days, in a month, in 6-8 months. The correlation analysis performed allowed identifying the relationship between the postoperative visual acuity and baseline functional and anatomical parameters in the myopic eye: best-corrected visual acuity, value of the anterior-posterior ocular axis, refraction spheroequivalent, height of the posterior vitreous detachment, opacity of the vitreous body in the inner segment, epiretinal membrane height, disorganization of the retinal pigment epithelium, increased choroidal reflectivity. The mathematical models were constructed that allowed predicting the probability of achieving a certain postoperative visual acuity after cataract phacoemulsification in high myopia.

Key words: ophthalmology, high myopia, cataract, phacoemulsification, visual acuity.
