Parkinson’s disease (PD) is the second most common neurodegenerative disorder of humans. BP can be considered a monogenic and multifactor disease. Epidemiological studies indicate that Parkinson’s disease occurs in all ethnic groups and occurs at different rates in men and women. According to WHO, more than 4 million people in the world suffer from BP. At the same time, the number of cases steadily increases as well as the number of patients older than 60 y.o. The increased incidence of this disease in the world is associated with the increase in life span, but other factors (e.g., environmental) may be significant, too. There are difficulties with the diagnosis of the disease, especially at the early stages, as the diagnosis of PD is made mainly on the basis of clinical manifestations and the course of disease. The article presents the results of clinical and epidemiological studies of Parkinson’s disease (PD) in Bashkortostan in 2013-2015 ― the prevalence in various age and gender groups, and provision of medicines in the Republic of Bashkortostan. The prevalence of PD in Bashkortostan amounted to 45.1, 48.7 and 40.0 cases per 100 000 population in 2013, 2014 and 2015, respectively.
Key words: Parkinson’s disease, prevalence, age, gender, treatment.
