Pitfalls on the way to financing mental healthcare under the compulsory health insurance (evidence from the Republic of Tatarstan)

The paper presentsthe experience of work of the regional mental healthcare service in the single-channel financing system. The conclusion is made that the positive experience of the functioning of hospital in new economic environment, as well as the improvement of the accessibility and effectiveness of psychiatric care for the patients, can result in «pitfalls» referring to the perspective of further financing of specialized medical care under the compulsory health insurance.
