Danilova O.V. — Ph. D. (medicine), Associate Professor of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, e-mail: olzaiz@mail.ru, ORCID 0000-0002-6742-0187 To present a personalized approach to choosing a contraceptive method using modern information technologies.

Material and methods. Literature data on the optimal choice of contraception methods were analyzed.

Results. For many women, the side effects that are completely harmless from a doctor’s viewpoint become grounds to reject the benefits of hormonal contraception. This problem can be solved by consulting, adjusting the method if necessary and, in general, choosing the means that are most successful in terms of comfort. It is important for a clinician to convey to the patient that the possible adverse reactions are not dangerous; many of them are only temporary, while others can be overcome by changing the drug. This is the right step towards increasing compliance with hormonal contraception.

Key words: contraception, quality of life of a woman.
