Ciliochoroidal detachment (CCD) is a frequent complication which can aggravate the postoperative period, change the operation results and increase the rehabilitation period, including in patients with various kinds of glaucoma, especially at late stages. Thus, the search for a reliable and effective method of treatment is still a topical issue. Due to this fact, we have elaborated a pathogenetically oriented treatment of ciliochoroidal detachment which includes spenopalatine-orbital blockade (SOB). The article presents an analysis of SOB effectiveness for conservative treatment of the ciliochoroidal detachments after non-penetrating deep sclerectomies. Application of the pathogenetically oriented treatment of ciliochoroidal detachment with SOB for the treatment of CCD was proved to be an effective method.

Key words: glaucoma, ciliochoroidal detachment, spenopalatine-orbital blockade, ophthalmotonus, glaucoma surgery.
