Today, osteochondropathy is one of the most common pathologies of the musculoskeletal system in children, leading to persistent loss of function of the lower limbs. Osteochondropathies are one of the main causes of disability due to diseases of the musculoskeletal system, accounting for 31.4%. Osteochondropathies are combined with each other in 21% and are detected with other skeletal pathologies in 63% of cases. To date, there are no effective methods for treating this disease. The article lecture covers issues of epidemiology, modern theories of development, pathogenetic and clinical aspects, diagnostic criteria, and modern principles of treatment of Schinz disease, as well as an analysis of the causes of its prevalence in the child population.
Key words: Haglund — Schinz disease, osteochondropathy of the heel bone, children.
