The article presents findings of the rehabilitation effectiveness evaluation of 40 children aged 10-12 years with obesity, who received rehabilitation by hydrokinesitherapy method within 2 months in an outpatient clinic. We evaluated the overall effectiveness of recovery using the map of the child’s health dynamics: complaints, objective symptoms, level of functional status and self-reported health. The timing of the locomotor activity effectiveness of each child during the training was conducted by the cardiovascular system reaction. 70% of children showed high coefficient of overall rehabilitation efficiency. The reliable positive dynamic in the process of rehabilitation was observed in waist circumference (WC), neck circumference (NC) and excess body weight (p<0.05). The target values for these indicators, such as the reduction of WC >3.0 cm, the decrease of NC >1.5 cm, the reduction of body weight more than 500.0 g, are recommended to use as objective criteria for assessing the rehabilitation effectiveness of children with obesity when using hydrokinesitherapy. The paper presents the values of training heart rate in children with obesity at different stages of therapeutic swimming, when the rehabilitation efficiency was high.

Key words: schoolchildren, obesity, therapeutic swimming, rehabilitation efficiency, nutritional status.
