This article contains the description of optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) ― the modern noninvasive method of imaging microvascular flow in ophthalmology, which is successfully used to diagnose diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, post-thrombotic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, central serous chorioretinopathy and a number of other pathologies. The article contains information on high-speed and high-contrast technology called SSADA, which has become key in the development of tomography and has played a significant role in the development of OCTA. Also, descriptions of modern equipment are presented: tomographs with the function of OCT angiography; the advantages of this method over other methods of studying the microvascular bed are analyzed and the directions in which this diagnostic method can be applied are examined.
Key words: OCTA, SSADA, angiography, diagnostics.
