Operative treatment of shortened metatarsal bones in children and adolescents

The article presents the technique of stretching the matatarsal bones in children with G.A. Ilizarov’s device, which allows to restore the normal anatomic structure and support ability of a foot, to eliminate the cosmetic and functional defect. The proposed foot reconstruction will allow to improve the springing and balancing functions of a foot, and to wear regular footwear without maceration and injuries of skin of the IV toe.
