Drusen of the optic nerve disc are one of the most common anomalies of the optic nerve. In 2016-2017, the authors carried out a research of 6802 people working in the same company. Anomalies of an optic nerve disc in the forms of drusen were found in 35 people, i.e., 0.5%. However, only few publications describe the neurological symptoms associated with this pathology. In this article we analyze the neurologic symptoms in patients with optic nerve disc drusen. The published works describe such symptoms as headaches and dizziness. The neurologic research showed migraines, epileptic seizures and intracranial hypertension. For this group of patients, changes on the EEG in the form of rhythm disturbances were typical. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain showed disorders of liquor spaces, congenital malformations and brain neoplasms. Existence of neurological symptoms in patients with optic nerve abnormalities confirms the importance of further studies of this issue.
Key words: drusen of the optic nerve disc, migraines, intracranial hypertension, epilepsy, brain MRI.
