     Objective ― the study of neurological complications in infective endocarditis for timely diagnosis and adequate tactics for the treatment of these nosologies.

    Material and methods. IE is a disease that develops as a result of the action of an infectious agent on the heart valves, less often the intima of the great vessels and the parietal endocardium of the heart cavity. Infective endocarditis entails a diverse spectrum of complications, including those involving damage to the nervous system: ischemic and hemorrhagic strokes, transient ischemic attacks, asymptomatic cerebral embolism, mycotic aneurysms, brain abscesses, meningitis, toxic encephalopathy. The study shows that in patients with infective endocarditis suffering from neurological complications, the frequency of fatal outcomes remains consistently high, despite the choice of adequate antimicrobial regimens.

    Results. Diagnosis and treatment of IE till the present, despite the development of modern clinical and laboratory research, makes doctors of various profiles be faced with significant difficulties due to the etiology of this nosology, identifying a wide range of infectious agents resistant to the use of modern drugs, and the clinical polymorphism of IE.

    Conclusion. Complexity of the differential diagnosis, treatment, high frequency of fatal outcomes dictates the need to increase awareness of IE, its complications of different types of doctors in order to avoid increasing mortality and disability of patients.
