The data of 37 eyes (30 patients) with pseudophakia and secondary cataract with primary posterior capsulorhexis (PCCC) were analyzed. Existence of posterior capsule opasification around the «window» of the posterior capsulorhexis was criterion of inclusion. The observation period was up to 5 years. Optical coherence tomography of vitreolenticular interface and digital retro-illuminate photo were performed in all cases. The zone of the posterior capsulorhexis in 26 eyes was intact, in 11 cases migration of lens epithelium cells (separate groups or monolayer) was found. The obtained results showed that the processes in the zone of posterior capsulorhexis depended on the extent of the lens epithelium proliferation in the posterior capsule and the morphological features of the vitreolenticular interface.
Key words: secondary cataract, posterior capsulorhexis, vitreolenticular interface.
