The article describes the anatomical and physiological features of premature babies and the main risk factors at an early age. The interdisciplinary monitoring of premature babies by professionals is necessary for early detection of abnormalities in health, development of complex therapeutic and rehabilitation measures. The principles of dynamic observation of the premature in the Center for Catamnesis are listed. The data is presented on the disease incidence during the first and second year of life of premature babies with various gestational ages. It is noted that the highest incidence in the first year of life is observed in babies with gestational age of less than 32 weeks. In the second year of life, the most severe neurological outcomes are observed in children with extremely low birth weight. The necessity is grounded of the early intervention in the development correction of premature babies at high risk of disease.
