The study includes the results of treatment of 53 patients with choroidal melanoma who underwent endovitreal removal of the tumor in the period from 2011 to 2017. 8 patients operated on since February 2017 were excluded from the study due to short observation periods. Out of 43 patients, 23 (53.5 %) were male and 20 (46.5 %) were female. The age of the patients was from 25 to 84 years (on average 55.05 ± 12.9 years). Primary endoresection of choroidal melanoma was performed in 22 patients, secondary — in 21 patients. If the primary endorsection of choroidal melanoma is performed, then the obligatory stage is brachytherapy by attaching beta-applicator with radionuclide Ruthenium-106 to the episcler on the tumor bed projection. The mean follow-up period was 18.25 months (range from 6 to 54 months, standard deviation 12.37 months). None of the patients experienced recurrences in the choroid, conjunctiva, or into the orbit. At the indicated time of observation, the eyes were preserved in all patients, the maximum corrected visual acuity was: ≥0.5 — 2 (5 % patients), ≤0.1 <0.5 — 16 (37 % patients), <0.1 — 25 (58 % patients). Endoresection of choroidal melanoma allows to avoid enucleation and maintain vision when treating large choroidal melanomas. It can be an alternative to radiotherapy to preserve vision in the eyes with juxtapapillary choroidal melanoma localization.

Key words: uveal melanoma, choroidal melanoma, endoresection.
